Pros

Decent overtime in winter but have to give up every weekend for it and work late on Good laugh at times with the guys

Cons

Lack of PPE, what you do get is rubbish. One pair of trousers to last all week? No overtime in summer Standby rotas terrible Expected to bend over backwards for needs of company when something happens Cctv in vehicles recording you , they say it isn’t monitored but that is definitely a lie Terrible management, no one knows anything about anything Promised pay rises that don’t happen Terrible rate of pay in general, especially for the skill set and knowledge you’re supposed to have. Lack of training Taking on seriously incapable staff who pose a risk on the job site and not getting rid of them within probation period because they are desperate for anyone with a pulse , because everyone has left to go to better jobs Lack of progression . Guys worked there 20 years weren’t happy so left and didn’t even receive a phone call! Chargehand not making much more the People just in the door who were useless with no tickets.

Pros

Work was very good and varied Great colleagues

Cons

Very understaffed, huge staff turnaround in general. Don't feel valued. Having to do 2 peoples work for not enough salary, generally poor salary compared to competitors. Treated like a number rather than a person, as long as the work is going out the door that is all that matters. Little support for professional qualifications. No training courses. Needs a full management change, working in old ways still. Very much a if it can save a penny attitude.
