Pros

I have read some of the negative reviews, from having to be Mormon to lying to employees to selling them benefits they don't need/ are useless to being a high pressure sales job and even how big companies allow BCI to prey on its own employees etc . I am not Mormon. Yet I have advanced. I am not related to the owner. Yet I have advanced. I do not work in the corporate office and do not “hang out” with leaders of the company - Yet I have advanced. We “educate” on ALL benefits offered to employees and have recorded lines. There is no “selling” done. We explain benefits so that employees see the value in them and can make informed decisions about what is best for them. As far as benefits not being useful- That is really sad because the Mom who’s child was killed in a car accident didn’t have to worry about how to bury her child since she had the accidental death policy. The lady who was diagnosed with Cancer was able to file a claim with her critical illness carrier and received a lump sum benefit to help with unexpected expenses. And the man who had a stroke and was admitted to the hospital for 2 weeks was able to file a claim with his hospital indemnity plan which allowed him to met his deductible so that his insurance plan would kick in and pay its portion. The pregnant employee who had to have an emergency c section was able to file a claim with her short term disability carrier and receive a check each week while she was out- allowing her to bond with her baby and not worry about the electric, water or rent payments. . Big and small companies allow us to partner with them because of the positive impact we have with their employee populations. Most of the negative comments are clearly from former employees who needed a place to lay the blame, had a lack or work ethic or just missed the entire reason we do what we do and that is just sad. Roles are clearly defined from interviewing to actual hire with extensive training to ensure each BCS’s success. Failure is a part of life and knowing your limitations is a sign of maturity. When you see that you are not cut out for a role- move on. There is no need in burning bridges or professional contacts. If you are interested in working with this great company- please do YOUR homework and ignore the childish antics of those who simply could not “cut” it.

Cons

Growth creates change. Be willing to do so. Not everything is laid out- do your homework.

Pros

The variety of positions - the Benefit Coordinator and Benefit Communication Specialist roles vary depending on the client you are assigned to. This means that you could land a totally remote role or a hybrid role. My experience is that BCI is very flexible and will agree to whatever the client wants.

Cons

Even though the duties vary based on the client, the pay seems to be applied the same across the board. For instance, if you are placed with a client that requires higher level customer service/research - you will be paid the same as if you were working for a client that does not require complex assistance.
