Pros

There are people who work here that are exceptional. However they are the minority.

Cons

Pay is well under the industry average. Incompetent senior managers have the ability to fail upwards. Bullying culture created by assistant director, after they left nothing changed. The bullying policy is that you're only protected if someone senior likes you. Or you can bully staff as long as a director likes you. Managers can throw false accusations but when they found wrong nothing is done about it. This happens multiple times as well. Booking a repair is next to impossible, the repair ticket mysteriously gets closed. However repairs are apparently beyond questioning about this. SLT goes on about making housing available and about mental health awareness however pays little attention to their properties or the mental health about their staff. Staff members starting off get no training and are expected to just do the job. Also every second person is a manager, bit like McDonald's. They had a cull a few years ago with managers and now there are more than ever. You have staff who work from home but they're actually dossing, and most probably getting paid more than you to do nothing. At the beginning of lock down there was no guidance as the majority of senior managers went into Narnia. No leadership through the pandemic. SLT is totally out of touch with reality. As a reward for working the pandemic I got a water bottle, personally I would prefer a kick in the teeth then being insulted. I think we got a collapsible cup as well. If I realised I was going to get that I wouldn't of put in the effort! The reward for doing a good job is to be worked as a slave.

Good teamwork, excellent project. A good opportunity to build professional relationships with residents who have complex needs, including substance misuse and mental health conditions.

Cons

Sadly, not enough shifts as a bank/relief worker
