Pros

Building relationships with teammates and job security

Cons

Low pay. No recognition for growth. Rely on a 3rd party scheduling system. I went to a business college for travel and tourism. They are hiring off the street no experience. Care too much about metrics. Scheduling time off is like pulling teeth. I am being sought out from a company for a 2nd time who sees my worth and came back to make a better offer. BCD could care less and they should. They are going to lose one of their best Government Travel Agents soon

I love everything about BCD travel. It’s a laid back work environment with minimal micromanagement.

I really cannot list any kinds. BCD is an awesome place to work.

Pros

The company used to give raises every 6 months based on performance.

Cons

We have not been given raises in years and they always have an excuse as to why they have to push it off til later, even our 0-3% inflation “raises” are put off until further notice. We no longer have sick leave or PTO and they say we should be grateful for that because if we were to leave the company they wouldn’t pay out our PTO to us, but they will pay out our vacation. If you need any kind of time off good luck, you need to know when your children will get sick months in advance, otherwise you accrue attendance points which will get you closer to being fired. Work force management pesters management about what we’re doing and why every single minute of the day. If we are late for scheduled breaks or lunches by a couple minutes they need to know why. If you have to deal with a traveler longer than usual you need to send multiple messages to management explaining why. It’s horrific micromanaging and we are treated like children now. You can find better pay at any other business travel management company while also being treated like a human being and not a number.
