Pros

I had the opportunity to work for BAM as a contractor before joining full-time. Beyond the four-day work week, competitive benefits and salary, and genuinely kind (and incredibly smart) colleagues I get to learn from every day, what stood out to me early was the consistency in how people described the culture and leadership throughout the interview process. Like most companies, BAM runs company wide surveys around what we should start, stop, and continue each year. What felt different was the speed of response and transparency. It didn’t takehalf a year to hear back. The most pressing decisions were made in real time. The rest were discussed the following week. Leadership, including Beck, reviewed each line item and explained their decisions in real time. Seeing that level of accountability and execution firsthand made it clear that employee feedback means something here. The benefits and pay are great, but working somewhere that shows that it values its people, in more ways than one, is what makes it special. A plus: The intentionality behind meeting in person when possible and creating a safe space for new perspectives and feedback is what has set them apart in terms of culture in my book.

Cons

Not a con, but moreso something to be aware of: the expectations are high and the pace can move quickly. BAM is not a work place to be passive. You have to own your work and communicate proactively! This is the only way a flexible, 4 day work week actually works!

Pros

What an incredible team — the CEO, leadership, and staff are professional, diligent, and sincere. They are truly wonderful people who work collaboratively to build one another up and care deeply about their clients.

Cons

I genuinely can’t think of a single con.

Pros

4 day work week, unlimited PTO, really good pay, lots of benefits on the back end for employees, remote work and more

Cons

• Very cliquey culture. People who have the best “personality fit” often thrive there compared to those who don’t. Some people were decent others not so much. • No training on rules specific to BAM so it’s on you to figure those things out, hopefully someone tells you before you put together something important for them. You’ll be criticized for it whether it was explicitly communicated to you or not. • Expectations can be inconsistent across accounts. What qualifies as “good” work on one account can be terrible on another. • A lot of the goals the company has for itself are sometimes lofty, overshot and poorly executed which can be detrimental for employees. • Had meetings to “bond” with our team members that felt unnecessary. They often felt like encouragement to overshare personal details about ourselves which just made relationships more awkward. Not to mention they were mandatory and cut into work time for an already short week. If you want to work here, I would just ask around and try to gauge if you’d be a good fit. I’ve heard very polarized responses. Very happy to not be associated with these people anymore.
