Pros

If you are a fan of Ayn Rand, so is EVERYONNE else! very helpful atmosphere, and willingness to discuss many topics.

Cons

A philosophy like Rand's tends to attract some less social people. As an intern I was looking to have some fun at work and learn a lot. I felt that I could do this, but there were some instances where they seemed to take themselves a bit too seriously. Additionally, I am an engineering major, and this was not really a career choice for me. I may have a skewed opinion of that kind of workplace. They did hire 2 of our interns full time though!

Pros

The teams are full of extremely bright, lovely people.

Cons

As with many nonprofits, progress on cross-department projects could be slow which minimized the amount of work I could do

Pros

Enjoyable place to work. Lots of perks if you're a serious Ayn Rand yourself: free books and other content, inside knowledge of a think tank, working at interesting intellectual events and conferences, philosophical discussions with brilliant thinkers. Most staff get their own office and an opportunity to work from home a couple times each month. Generous time off from day 1, and attractive benefits.

Cons

It's a nonprofit, so you won't get rich. If you're not at least sympathetic to Ayn Rand's unique ideas, this probably isn't the right place for you.
