Pros

Axos is a company that is always looking to improve its products and services for the customers. The company tries its best to obtain honest customer feedback and implement necessary changes to make improvements.

Cons

Unfortunately the company has little to no employee engagement. The company often touts itself a technology company, yet it fails to bring technology company-like culture. Never has the company asked 'how are you doing?' but solely focuses on 'did you show up to work today?'. One evidence of this is how they are handling the Covid-19 pandemic. The company is currently not allowing any employee to work from home regardless of the guidance provided by the State of California and County of San Diego. Whenever there is a positive case in the company, there have been times when the company was not transparent about the news and attempted to brush it under the rug. More recently, the company received a notice from the State of California stating their failure to have employees properly wear masks and maintain social distancing. On some of the responses to the Glassdoor reviews, the company has replied back saying that they are making it mandatory for employees to check their temperature and wear masks. Yet, there is no accountability with this and I have yet to see any of this in action. The company will reply back saying that it is a shared responsibility to prevent the spread of Covid. Unfortunately, the company is failing to do their part in that shared responsibility. As an employee, the only thing we can do is wear a mask and have virtual meetings, which is not effective when you're sitting in an enclosed office space for 8 hours a day. The company can do more by being more transparent about positive Covid cases, bringing in ventilators, or better yet, allowing folks to work from home. Yes, there are certain positions that are better suited to be in the office, but there are plenty of other positions that do not require to be physically present in the office. It's been really tough being asked to come into the office and putting families back at home at risk. Within the last several months, many of our more talented colleagues have chosen to leave the company due the company's failure to listen to their concerns. The company often cite how they have been hiring during the pandemic while others have been consolidating. But this statement is often used out of context, as the company is only hiring because so many employees have decided to leave. The company will also state how they've conducted a survey with the company to obtain employees' response to the pandemic. Again, this statement is often used out of context as the survey was done only one time at the very beginning of the pandemic when cases of Covid was much lower. How the company has handled the pandemic is only one example of how the company has no employee engagement. A successful company will often focus on the well-being of their employees. Not just physical well-being, but also mental and emotional well-being.
