Pros
AwareBase was one of the best work experiences I ever had. I was given a lot of opportunity to grow and learn, to work with the department of defence, and build an amazing product with a really talented team.
The company encouraged me to expand my role and grow. It encouraged my further education. And the team was full of hard working, talented people from across the globe.
I would gladly work with them. I made a lot of friends there and I'm still in touch with them.
Cons
Nothing out of the ordinary for a company of this type. While initial compensation was below market average, it was remedied during my performance evaluation.
The off shore team is talented, but they're were initial issues with poor code being merged into the code base. This was also addressed rapidly.
The only reason I left was the location. Edmonton. It gets really cold there. But that isn't really on the company.
If you are really interested in learning and growing with some amazing and talented people and can live in Edmonton, then you will regret not working for them. They are great.
