Pros

None. None. None. None. None.

Cons

I'm not one of the 46 employees who they laid off using the covid excuse. As the other employees that have left reviews said the new management is running this company down hill quick. In fact there's rumor of a buy out soon. If you're not part of the Billings cool kids club you're not safe from being fired. And if you dare speak up you might as well pack your desk up. Don't go against the Billings mafia. I love how A is answering all of these personally but never addresses the real issue. Why has the succession team run this business into the ground and allowed this to happen. It's sad really.

I will answer this post beginning with your last question relating to our position on “losing talent.” We never like to lose wonderful, talented people who produce outstanding work. Sometimes, however, people are ready for a change, and we opt not to stand in their way. In fact, we wish them well in their new endeavors. We believe this approach reflects our growth-oriented management style, as we believe that change is good for individuals and for our company. As to the recent reduction in force we recently experienced, it was directly related to changes in the marketplace due to COVID-19. You have identified yourself as a former employee who was not part of that RIF, and thus not privy to the discussions we had with those impacted or with those employees that remain. You are likewise unaware of how difficult the decision was to make for our leadership or how long we attempted to avoid taking that step. Finally, your comments relating to “the Billings mafia” and similar references are uninformed at best and spurious at worst. The succession team was hand-picked by our company’s founders and remain, individually and collectively, focused on continuing to build on what they created. Like them, we reward hard work, promote based on merit and listen to and implement good ideas no matter from whom they originate. We don’t pay attention to rumors and instead operate on facts, working to solidify the foundations of our company as we help our clients strengthen theirs. Pros

Wonderful people - they truly are like a second family. Great work/life balance. I never felt obligated to miss my kids' activities or appointments. Good base pay and decent benefits. I was part of the COVID-caused layoffs, and I would still love to go back to Avitus Group if they were hiring. All of the comments I've read about nepotism or the "Billings Mafia" are sickening. If they'd taken the time to get to know the people they are accusing, they'd understand why they truly are the best people for the positions they're in. There were a few promotions that I disagreed with, but that happens everywhere. Sometimes, because people are exceptional at their jobs, it is assumed that they would be good leaders. Unfortunately, that's not always true. This is a great company to work for, and they do care about their employees. Sometimes tough decisions have to be made, which goes for any business. Not just Avitus.

Cons

I'm sure it is a concerning environment to work there right now, since Covid is still wreaking havoc in the country. This will probably lower the company morale. All I can say is, hang in there.

Pros

Coming to this job I was blown away by the friendly and attentive management. I was lucky enough to be employed by a company that understands life happens outside of the office! Outside of them being so appreciative of my family life, they are very attentive to their employees. If you work hard and produce results you are rewarded! I came from a company who made promises and didn't follow through; Now I work for a company that not only appreciates my work ethic, but embraces and rewards me for it. I know without a doubt that this company and it's employees are more than just my 8-5 peers, but also an extension of my family. When it comes to the people in charge, I have never seen more enthusiasm or pride. They have built this company from the ground up. They are humble people who understand that the employees and clients are what keep the company growing, and they have the upmost appreciation for both.

Cons

The only thing I would like to see improve in the company is more background on how the company started. There isn't a very strong "orientation" process. It would be great to instill the pride you see from the owners in the employees by helping them get to know the people, and company they work for. I think if there was more time spent on the systems, procedures and history more people would feel the pride that the Board members feel.
