Pros

Working near other tech start-ups

Cons

Company boasts about things like work from home Fridays, unlimited PTO, shadowing other employees to gain additional experience, etc., but the reality is that none of that will ever happen (nor did it happen amongst any of the other handful of employees). I had to use my own personal laptop throughout my entire employment, as the iPads that were provided were insufficient to do the work. Lack of transparency in the direction of the company and in the capacity of the actual software Unrealistic expectations of employees CEO is abrasive - the company appears to consistently cycle through employees who all have either left/been fired

Pros

Great mission using technology to actually help people Highly collaborative environment where everyone's ideas are heard Lots of flexibility from unlimited PTO to work from home options Work hard and do your job well and you have a lot of freedom in how you do it If you can make a case for your idea, everyone is open to changing their minds and that's uncommon Cool tech stake and a cool vision for where it's headed Company has grown and changed a lot in the 2 years I've been here

Cons

Typical early phase startup issues and pressures are certainly not for everyone As with any startup you have to be very agile and I've seen that make people uncomfortable

Pros

Just next to a really nice strip mall with a lot of lunch options? That’s a pro. Parking garage is attached to the building.

Cons

1. You’re lunch hour is 60 minutes, exact. They literally set an alarm when you leave, which you will then hear go off 60 minutes later. Mind you it’s a communal table of 5 employees working here, so unsure why they elect to email versus having face to face contact. 2. There are no insurance / health benefits. They give you a stipend for health insurance which is essentially not even enough to get a minimal coverage plan 3. They pride themselves on being “non micro managers” and love hearing feedback, but as soon as you voice you’re opinion in any way the CEO gives you the cold shoulder for a week minimum 4. Do not expected to be greeted or chatted with, ever. The CEO never asked me once how I was doing, how my day was, nothing. It’s a very cold environment. 5. This office is in a “start up garage” with several other companies which they “prefer” that you don’t get “too friendly” with. People would come in after the weekend and be chatting about how they all went to the beach / a birthday party, but never anyone from Avisare. 8. You will not be introduced to anyone from any other team and/or the office manager.
