      Pros

      Honestly one of the smartest groups of engineers that I have ever worked with. Garaged parking was nice. The Avedro Appreciation Days, which was nice (beer and food), are usually conveniently scheduled on Friday's and often Friday's before long weekends so people do not leave early.

      Cons

      Everything else.....where to start. Hours - zero flexibility, if you are not in my 8 you draw the wrath of David. And the door better not be hitting you on the butt on the way out....30 minutes for lunch, although you should be eating at your desk. CEO - awful. Micromanaged everything. Your opinion does not matter. All employees are afraid to say anything to him.

      Pros

      Lots of company change in 2016 has made for a very positive work environment - the old reviews here are very outdated. We now have US FDA approval, a new CEO who is a great leader with experience managing several other successful startups, flexible work environment (1/2 day Fridays in Summer), great benefits (100% dental, etc), colleagues with strong knowledge of ophthalmic space. With being a small company, it's easier to move departments and roles if there is an interest - great development opportunities.

      Cons

      I was hesitant to work here because of the negative reviews and the previous hostile work environment. Apparently the stories are true but that CEO is thankfully long gone! I made sure to address this in the interview process because I was leaving a Fortune 500 company to take a chance on Avedro. Once I met the people, I knew that it was a good fit. The people are great and the company is going at a fast pace. It's an exciting time to work here! It's just disappointing that the previous work environment is giving the company a bad rep.
