No pros whatsoever for this company

Stay well clear of this company, they do not value their staff or customers. The Northeast region has a very high staff turnover as the management are bullies. The trainer at the sales academy made the new starters write the good reviews below. The management in the Northeast region are very hard sellers and if you don't get a sale they come down on you like a ton of bricks. They use bully tactics and force Sales Advisors to make customers reserve and because of this the customer cancels within a few days. It has become a lot worse since they have brought in new management, the previous managers were brilliant so really at a loss as to why they were pushed out. I can't stress enough about not working for this company and don't believe the below reviews!

Pros

not many I can think of. the drive to work was ok and they now have a wendy's literally on the doorstep of he office. the work was ok, bordering on easy, as there was little enthusiasm or drive from senior managers and directors. there are some great people trying to do a good job but there is little or no guidance and no clear direction offered.

Cons

to keep with the sailing theme it felt like rats jumping from a sinking ship. all the competent people who could get jobs elsewhere have done so and its like a rudderless ship sailing towards the rocks. the senior leadership in the business were not interested in finance which was clear when you read about the financial trouble the business was in. cost cutting was extreme in all areas but it felt like penny pinching with the basic condition of the offices deteriorating and the place feeling very unloved. whilst only minor an example would be the quality of the highlighter pens which were so poor and dry that they were unusable (no stabilo boss thats for sure!). I left because i was worried that the business would continue in existance for much longer.

Pros

I successfully obtained the post through a recruitment agency who were very good, kept me up to date on what was happening in the recruitment process. I was interviewed on the 16th April and commenced in post on the 12th May 2025 – so I was very impressed that I’d been interviewed and commenced in post within a month. I visited the office when I brought in my ID documents for checking and was made to feel very welcome. I thought the induction process was really good and smooth, Sarah was very informative and is obviously very knowledgeable about Avant. I spent time with the team going through their roles and also learning the HR system and processes and procedures. I have felt a part of the HR team since day 1, it's a team who are there for and support each other as well as providing an excellent service to both our internal and external customers. It's a family friendly environment and an organisation that cares for their employees.

Cons

Be more flexible in relation to working hours, potentially office staff having an early start/finish on a Friday.
