Communication from leadership is inconsistent, and role expectations can shift without clear notice or structured transition. Responsibilities are thrust onto you without additional compensation, training, or workflow adjustments, which contributes to burnout.
The management is notorious because they always speak to people condescendingly. HR is of no help. They have no qualms in public handling of disciplinary matters, which can be humiliating and damaging to morale. There is a pecking order at the office. There was noticeable unequal treatment of employees, especially towards people of color.
