Pros
The team at Avalon Hollywood is really great to work with — everyone is supportive, fun, and creates a positive environment behind the bar. The scheduling is very flexible, which makes it easy to balance work with school or other jobs, and it’s never difficult to get a shift covered if something comes up. Management is also very friendly and approachable, which makes the overall work experience much less stressful and more enjoyable.
Cons
Sometimes there can be favoritism when it comes to scheduling, and if you upset management you might get placed at a less profitable bar as a form of punishment. During special events, the pay doesn’t always match the extra effort required, which can be frustrating. The hours are very late, which isn’t for everyone, although the shifts themselves usually aren’t that long.
