Pros

-Coworkers are supportive, talented, and care about the patients -Customer Service is very available and helpful -Good for someone who has never had a sales role before because everything you should say and do is spelled out for you -Commission can add up for those meeting and exceeding budget goals

Cons

-Base salary was extremely low ($40,000) to motivate sales -Front office people are not paid enough so the quality of people hired for that position is questionable and if they are any good they will quit soon after hire. I worked with 5 different front office people in a year and a half. Without a good front office person you are basically screwed. -Pushed to work Saturdays without additional compensation -high pressure to sell put on the hearing instrument specialist. Micromanaged and questioned after ever tested no sale as to what you did wrong. -pricing of the hearing aids can't compete with neighboring private practices and big box stores -misleading marketing ruins patient's perception of the company -poor work life balance because there is too much to do each day. I ended up working an extra two hours over every day because of follow up calls and paperwork.

Pros

I have been working for Avada Audiology & Hearing Care for over a year now. I manage and care for patients at the Dayton & Middletown location. Over the last year I have been trained in managed care, as well as fixing a multitude of hearing instruments. At the end of the day I do everything I possibly can to ensure patient satisfaction & flexibility. We are owned by a new corporation who has dedicated themselves to improve the quality of life to anyone with hearing difficulties. Over the last year we have changed our walk-in hours for quicker service, & have lowered prices to ensure patients quality instruments at a variety of prices. Working alongside my practitioner we have been able to offer in home care, & nursing home care, regardless of the time of day, we are there for our patients. We understand whole heartedly how important your hearing, and overall health is to you & your family. Life is too short to go without hearing all the beautiful things most people take for granted. Many coordinators have come & gone, but as long as I can I will sustain a higher level of care for all of our patients. Like any other career it has challenges, but I truly enjoy every challenge that walks in our doors. We will continue to learn & grow, but I can’t thank our patients enough for allowing the opportunity to serve them.
