Pros

There is nothing positive working for these awful people.

Cons

The fuel card they gave me did not work. I had to pay for fuel myself. A replacement fuel card was given two days late. They got me to drive up to Glasgow from Yorkshire then I had pay for a train ticket myself to go from Glasgow to Edinburgh. Then I had to pay for a tram ticket to get from Edinburgh city centre to Edinburgh Airport. Then I had to locate a car hire company to drive a polo from the airport to just outside Snowdonia National Park Wales. A long way!!! I was told at Wales there would be help but there was not.

Automotive Logistics Response

At AML we always welcome ‘constructive’ feedback – sadly this is not the case here. What this person has failed to highlight is: • This is a self-employed role – all drivers are advised fully before joining AML of this and the fact that any expenses occurred in the performance of the role are (as per Inland Revenue regulations) down to them. AMLS are technically their customer – not that we treat them as a supplier. • The driver role AML is a ‘traditional’ trade plate role where drivers are actively encouraged to use ‘traditional’ methods to get about – not using public transport. • If drivers are found to be ferrying each other around (whether they are relatives or not), adding additional mileage to customer vehicles (overusing fuel in the process) they are not provided with any further work. To re-iterate previous comments on the site - AML do not lie to drivers - due to customer pressures, road conditions and other external factors routes and movements do not always go to plan and sometimes driver days have to be changed around. AML will always endeavour to make sure the disruption to drivers is kept to a minimum, however customer needs must come first. Traditional Trade Plating is not for everyone. Whilst appreciating we may be incorrect here - it appears in this case, looking at the detail, that this person was not provided any further work due to their actions whilst in the custody of customer vehicles and therefore has written here to vent their angst. AML has drivers on the books that have been servicing customer requirements for as long as 14 years I would suggest not reading too much into comments from an individual who only spent a short amount of time in our service.
