Pros

When paid hourly, you can make decent $ because most weeks will be more than 50 hours and sometimes up to 80 hours. First class paid travel; you keep points. Per diem $.

Cons

Below average base salary. You can make a decent engineer's paycheck, but you have to work a lot of overtime to get it. Too intrusive on personal life including: - Regularly work on Holidays and Weekends - 60-70% travel - Periodic 24 hour on-call duty As an electrical controls engineer, I got stuck with a lot of customer service calls because ACS did not have a customer service department, and the customers are most often not qualified or skilled to trouble-shoot equipment.

Pros

Great pay even at entry leve. I was making $16/hour with like $45 a day per diem. So roughly $1,100 a week after taxes. Always stayed in in nice hotels, never any motels. Always had my own room - never had to share a room Get to travel the country and build up hotel point and flight points

Cons

7 days a week - 10 hour days (which is also a pro if you're looking to make good money)
