Pros

It's a great way to learn how to function in a fast paced environment. I think it can be eye opening for those who are considering the mental health field long term. It also makes you realize how limited services are for those in need.

Cons

Not nearly enough support for direct care staff, who are the ones with the patients all of the time. Consistently understaffed. No one really follow procedure, so it's inconsistent and confusing, upsetting both patients and staff.

Pros

Caring nursing, clinical, and support staff. Staff experienced in treating addictions to alcohol and drugs. Evidence based curriculum. Dedicated volunteers, donors, and alumni provide peer support. Good place to learn addictions treatment.

Cons

Staff not skilled in treating process addictions or tobacco addiction. Board is focused on mission without sufficient focus on revenue integrity to support mission. Board of Directors ill equipped to position facility for long term success.
