Pros

-Audax is a great place to learn and grow. From formal and informal mentorship, to on-the-job coaching, to quick repetitions on deals (thanks to the volume of transactions that come through the Buy & Build approach) junior investment professionals have numerous opportunities to learn new skills and test their judgement and investment acumen. -These early and repeated experiences provide individuals opportunity to increase their ownership and responsibility on deal teams early in their career -Though there are clearly outlined core competencies for each level and several supports and structures in place to help individuals progress in their roles, there is also an underlying culture of entrepreneurialism, ownership, taking initiative and stepping into new roles on teams that is celebrated at the firm -As a result, young professionals grow quickly and have large impacts on teams - internally and externally - early in their careers

Cons

-Stepping into new roles on teams can be uncomfortable and take hard work. Individuals hold themselves to high standards in order to deliver the work product that they've previously seen someone 1-2 years more senior on their team produce. -Learning is not always linear or easy, but it feels great to look back at the progress and feel pride in the process. We learn to ask for help on nuances of the deal from supervisors; we partner with our internal strategic resources groups for advice and expertise; we ruthlessly prioritize and manage our time; we build relationships with our internal Audax teams and management teams that are long lasting.

Pros

nothing special. typical PE perks: occasional fancy dinners, catered lunches, expense stuff, good health plan, etc.

Cons

culture is pretty toxic - management pretends things are great and sugarcoats everything, junior employees have low morale - salary not competitive at all. terrible 401k match. taboo to talk about coinvest. no salary transparency or progression path - terrible culture of being available/visible. i've spent entire days with no work, sitting in the office just waiting to go home - very top heavy. tons of MDs and too many opinions. managment can't change because they can't decide on anything. - hours aren't bad but toxic culture makes you stay late. sometimes i save work for later so i have a reason to stay late and look busy - very much a gossip culture. lots of talking about people behind their backs - constant probing for upward feedback from management but nothing ever changes - management appeases junior employees with occasional dinners and parties, gets old after the first three. Partners don't show up at events, and MDs leave as fast as possible - catered lunches sound nice but are unhealthy slop, office snacks are all unhealthy. it's like a 7th grader is ordering the food - office has little color and bright hospital lighting. drives you crazy after a few hours
