Pros

You will learn a lot of information very quickly with Atrion. We also moved into a brand new building that is just amazing. Customer service skills are stressed and our clients create a strong relationship that endure over long periods of time. Technical knowledge within the company is vast and every engineer will help you at any moment.

Cons

Although you learn a lot, expect the majority to be self-learned as training (internally or externally) is hard to come by and you will need to spend a fair amount of your time to learn. To their credit however they are working to improve the training processes. Engineering as a whole is still not satisfied with the base pay 'targets'. Pay is not tied to performance, knowledge, or certifications but instead based on a 'pay grade' and length of service only.

Pros

Atrion has a positive culture and many good employees. They try to do what is best for people and take advice. I have always had positive experiences with my managers and they are extremely flexible. Atrion concentrates on the people and tries to maintain focus on their customers which leads to strong relationships. You get the chance to work with some of the best technology in the industry and there is definitely opportunity to grow within the company.

Cons

The work life balance could be better but its tough for this industry. Accountability has been a struggle as many people jump through hoops for the customers but internally there is a lot of blaming and finger pointing in certain areas. Also, the pay could be better. Making a profit sharing plan and considering part of that in your overall compensation doesn't justify lower pay as its not guaranteed. People would be far happier with a guaranteed pay without the profit sharing.
