Pros

Not many pros to consider here. If you're having a good time at the company, it's probably because the CEO hasn't yet spent your salary on an unnecessary "business" trip to work out with his buddies, or you've got a face that is pretty enough to appease him and the story he likes to tell about himself to investors. Or, you are just an excellent sheep, with a reliably mediocre skill set. In any case, just you wait, your day will come, too.

Cons

Predatory company, masquerading as socially conscious and well-intentioned. Produces absolutely nothing. Ever hear of Theranos? Google it. It's disgraceful that the provincial government has chosen to support carrying this deficit. The list of cons goes on and on. You're better off anywhere but mixed up in this mess. What a gigantic waste of time.

Pros

Visionary CEO, encouraging and professional senior management, helpful team members, little bureaucracy, agile mindset, general willingness to try unconventional approaches, good mix of skills and perspectives, intent to do the right things, willingness to learn from others, good gender mix, excellent support for work-life balance, expectation of honesty and transparency. Employees are unusually mutually supportive and willing to communicate across disciplines.

Cons

Company is a startup in a very new industry: There are no rules or models to copy from similar organizations and employees are expected to use their best judgement and innovate. As in any fast-moving organization, there are normal moments of surprise, miscommunication, and human error.
