Pros

Work from home, decent rate

Cons

Everything else: clients, system, management; you're forced to use their proprietary dialing software, their script , and you're berated if you deviate from either one. By berated, I mean Phil Foti (the owner/CEO) will hurl 4-letter words at you and say things no CEO or manager should EVER say to a subordinate. Then again, this was 4+ years ago. Maybe things have changed. Proceed with caution. If you love using a headset and an auto dialer, maybe this is the job for you.

Thanks for sharing temporary contractor, although we have no record of any recruiters working virtually for us in Dallas prior to 2017 :) and for the record our recruiters do not use auto dialers ... in the US contractors use their own phones and always have, if one so chooses we have cloud Pbx to boost efficiency... only our offshore based sourcers use cloud dialers to track metrics and for accountability and productivity enhancement ... all offshores are hourly so ... quite in fact... you were an offshore sourcer ..and certainly not from Dallas .. Let's begin with... would never happen, never in my entire career would I "sling" a four letter word on anyone let alone a team member, anyone who knows me, would laugh at the possibility of this. I have never and would never "sling" or use any profanity as it's is a distasteful and ineffective management style and all who know me would attest to this, it would never happen. Dislike our clients ? ;) anything else ? Dislike of our proprietary tools and use of leveraged telecommunications? Successful Recruiters live and die by the phone... at the end of the day client's pay us to actually "speak" with candidates... We’ve developed powerful proprietary software tools (see www.atavas.com/whyatavas )and want our offshore staff to adhere to their usage for one purpose ... they’re highly effective , my question is if you didn’t like the tools or our process ? Why did you align with us ? You were a contractor ? You certainly knew the tools going in .. We’re always upfront with our recruiters that success for our clients requires professional engagement of passive candidates ... which does require extensive phone work as well as many other modalities we use at Atavas to ensure our success....great recruiters use scripts initially and talking points only as guidelines until they are able to have cheerful, spontaneous conversations with candidates... and moderate objections with poise... and they must talk to candidates live... anything less is just not executive search... In this world of social trolling it’s so easy to attack another’s integrity on public social media platforms with little or no context or detail... accusation ... but it takes character to talk with someone directly and air a grievance even through an email ... rather than hide behind social media ... and in public ... this speaks more of your integrity than mine. If you have a grievance ? Allow someone to make an honest amends if an accusation is true rather than hide behind public social platforms ? But this is laughably not and an attempt to discredit my reputation. Unfortunately social media can be empowering and conversely a platform for vengeance for myriad reasons ... for any identity real or otherwise to attack ones reputation with a few clicks of a mouse ... I’m always open to constructive feedback from past team members this however is malicious and baseless. Kindest Phil

Great place to work and partner with staffing professionals to quickly fill open positions, Very efficient use of all technology available to support recruiting efforts. The focus is on candidate/client satisfaction. Open to new ideas, always looking for a way to support employees to get the job done for the end client.

Pros

I have been with the company for a few years and working with Phil has been a joy! As an Account Manager and Recruiter, you get to work remote and speak directly with the stakeholders. You get to craft your agreements and you get to work with the best internal recruiters across the US. Phil is motivating and he brings decades of experience to his work. He is always available for advice! + Flexible hours and autonomy + The availability of powerful tech-driven sourcing tools. + Commission only structure-make as much as you're willing to work for + Opportunity to recruit for firms in multiple industries

Cons

With any remote independent roles, a recruiter must know how to manage their plate and some of the independent recruiters that come on are not able to work hard enough or dedicate there time. If you do not have the bandwidth or ability to juggle lots of reqs, and be engaged than this is not the place for you. Please do not join thinking that this is easy work. You get what you put into it.
