Assurant is a remarkably disorganized operation, which was both surprising and disappointing. It felt as if the leadership team was making decisions by throwing darts in the dark rather than employing a thoughtful, strategic approach. Assurant just "buys" other companies and then tries to fit them into a "culture".
Moreover, the company's mindset appeared to be stuck in a bygone era, reminiscent of the 1980s, with old-school thinking dominating its approach to business and customer service. This outdated perspective made it challenging to resolve modern problems efficiently or to engage with them using contemporary solutions. The overall impression is that Assurant has not kept pace with the times, which in today's fast-evolving world, can be a significant drawback.
Innovation, agility, and customer-centricity are key to success, Assurant's approach feels out of touch with all three.
Also the benefits are sub par. Two weeks of vacation to start off with...some divisions it's a "good ole boys" club.
