Pros

You have the option to take home some good food that can't be sold in the shop floor. 1 hour UNPAID Lunch break (it can be seen as a pro)

Cons

20% discount is ridiculous. They make so much money, surely they could give a little more incentive to the staff. Rota is constantly changing, no one cares about your life outside work, you are supposed to be extremely flexible and available anytime. If you ask for certain days off ( given weeks in advance ) you probably won't get it YOU need to ask to be trained and have responsibilities. This is partially ridiculous. Yes, asking to be trained in other things shows that you want to progress, but I think they need to trust people a bit more, give more responsibilities each day , and let them shine, and see who's worth giving a promotion. I think this is the basic of good management. Otherwise this can create an overly competitive atmosphere. Pay is rubbish. We are in London. 8£ an hour is a joke. Probably you won't get paid to do the Stock take, which occurs every so often. So be prepared to work a couple of hours for free . They don't even offer to pay for your transport as a thank you. You have to pay £50 for your uniform. This will be given back to you once you have brought it back , cleaned and ironed at the end of your contract. Ridiculous. No one wants to keep your uniform, so please chill out charging £££ for a couple of polos and 1 apron. You will be at the till the whole day, or restocking products. Be prepared for your brain to slowly die.
