Pros

The experience of working in corrections is great. Our team is amazing. Shockingly, neither of these have anything to do with Armor.

Cons

Working for Armor is great, if you like being repeatedly accused of being lazy and inept. If you enjoy having no written policy, and an employer who backtracks on verbal policy when it's convenient, then this is totally the company for you. This company excels at looking over your shoulder and punishing the entire group for simple mistakes, instead of training and discussion. This company also does a fantastic job of treating LPNs poorly, and seems to forget that we are actual nurses. It says so, right in our title. Armor is a terrible company to work for, and despite their oft touted rhetoric of, "Of service to others", and "being a team" and "they are patients first, not inmates", they do a terrible job of actually providing what we need to provide appropriate patient care. They also seem to forget that it's us, the LPNs, RN, and MAs who are in the trenches, providing care and establishing appropriate patient relationships with people most of society would like to see dead.

Pros

The pay and shift differentials

Cons

Too many people on power trips and it's every man for themselves so you join the clique or be outcasted.
