Quiet, calm, work environment with supportive management, steady pay, and job security.
Cons
As with most state jobs, it does not pay as well as expected in private industry.

Pros
Freedom to work independently. Long-term opportunity if you are looking for a place to settle and retire. Great benefits for someone. Many of the people that work there are genuinely good people that are supportive.
Cons
Low pay and lots of cronyism and nepotism. The pay is low unless you are a Division head. This is not the place for the college educated. If you are hoping to advance then this is not the place for you. Politics run this place and the only people that advance are those who are friends of the Commissioner. Experience and background hold no power here.
