Pros
There are many pros to working at AFD: the women designers here are great, we have half days on Fridays, we have an awesome 401K plan, and great outdoor views from the office. We do get paid overtime (despite what the other review says), but there is a good work/social life balance so you usually have the weekends to yourself. Ariel is a wonderful boss to work with; all about women empowerment and trusts her designers to do great work while she oversees other aspects. Business is growing with new projects constantly coming in so while we are super busy and it can be stressful at times, we are working in a great place. If you're a designer coming from a firm where you're used to being stressed out constantly, working 70+ hours a week and in a dysfunctional environment you would appreciate working at AFD even more.
Cons
Very few cons working at AFD. It really is a great place to work. If I had to be picky I would say that we have to use MACs instead of PCs, which is my own personal preference, but you learn to get over it. We also don't get sick days, which would be nice to have, but maybe that is something to come in the near future.
