Pros

-Very good training. I came into the commodities field with only basic print journalism experience and I am leaving with a broad overview of commodity fundamentals, global arbitrage and trade flows, industry value chains, how to analyse export import data, navigate horrid Eurostat website, and other skills. -Good WFH policy. Theoretically a three days in the office experience. In truth, because of the way market contacts work it is often very flexible. Office experience is quite nice as well, free fruit (sometimes) in the morning, theoretically free coffee if the machines don't keep breaking. -Good culture. Very friendly bosses, very forgiving. Made it through a whole year without getting yelled at. Working hours of 7-8 hours a day so nothing oppressive. Lots of drinking after work, so is fun. -Good pay rise and development opportunity.

Cons

-Tasks becomes repetitive. One can only really find the joy in writing "prices unchanged" so many times. -Writing style very hard to get used to at the start. Argus writes for a large audience of non-english speakers. Don't expect to wax poetic here. Might be a waste of a english-lit degree..
