Pros

-The staff are incredibly friendly and in general is a very positive working environment -The benefit scheme is incredibly good and covers a wide range of companies including: Expedia and ebuyer as some big names. -Some of the work incentives are very good for example the Argos "inspire" system that promotes good customer service in exchange for points that can be redeemed for cash. -Managers incredibly supportive and have been very understanding about personal issues. -Hours although long and limit social life and club activities are nice and long which is good for money i average a 30-40 hour week on a 15 hour contract.

Cons

-Training, the training is shocking, the "opendoor" system although allows you to learn at home in your own time is time consuming and non informative. After using the open door system and talking to colleagues they agree that after completing the full training they would be unable to do their jobs from day 1 and instead still have to ask managers how to do a lot of things. for example i have no idea how to use the jewelry counter and have to contact an older member of staff or manager to assist. -Training cont: The attitude in Argos to training new members of staff in my store is sub par, after being there for over a few months now i have only just received my log in information for their stock system "aura" but have yet been trained how to use it. This is the same story for puting away delivery, I was never trained how to use the headset past the basic functions instead i had to instead ask other members of staff for them to stumble their way through teaching me how to use the process. -I have still yet been told how to use a pallet truck. -The headsets, The headsets are appalling over long shifts of 6 hours+ they tend to squeeze your head and cause headaches and secondly the mics are awful meaning you have to shout at them or repeat your command over and over which needless to say is frustrating, slows you down and can lead to mistakes. -Hours are all consuming, you have to be FULLY flexible if on a 15 hour contract meaning that you want a social life? nope. want to attend clubs in the evening regularly? nope. the hours are changed every single week and most of the time cover the weekends also so work does become an all consuming thing. -Wages are terrible, currently on £5.33
