Pros

- Ability to do top-end consulting work for legal teams at F100 companies (and other clients); good set-up for top MBA (M7) and JD (T10) programs - Ability to work remotely, with only occasional client/conference travel - Flexibility offered in work hours, particularly for strong/established performers - High level of ownership, and ability to contribute to many different parts of firm; meritocratic; opportunities for quick promotion/leadership for strong performers

Cons

- Small (though high-performing) firm, so opportunities to meet/socialize with others in industry come more through client engagement, conferences, etc. - Less client travel then at large strategy consulting firms (primarily due to nature of work; engagement with corporate legal clients is more often remote)

Pros

Argopoint is a Boston-based boutique counsulting firm with a big (read: global) footprint. Its history is that it is basically a Bain-spin-off. The firm is on the "cutting edge" of corporate legal consulting - developing new ideas and approaches to improve a vital corporate function that can benefit from sound management advice and support. The work environment is quite good. Colleagues are *very* bright (although it sometimes seems like a Harvard College reunion) and good to work with on a day-to-day basis. Interesting, intriguing projects for executives at Fortune 100 and Global 100 clients. Outstanding, unique location and office in the heart of Boston's Beacon Hill is a bonus; the office is a former historic church building converted into cool office space.

Cons

As would be expected of a smaller firm, the projects are often narrower in scope (there are no 20-consultant projects here). The approach is more about thoughtful targeted work vs. sending an army of low-level consultants to overwhelm the client. Travel is sometimes expected. Expectations are high regarding performance; expect late nights. Firm leadership will challenge you to improve whatever you bring to the table - and take true ownership (intellectual and otherwise) for your projects. Be bright, be quick, be very responsible - or your time here will be tough.
