Pros

The people are the most amazing and hard working individuals I've ever met. They want to do great work but the support of Head Office is horrid for all employees!

Cons

The head office is disconnected from the sites in the Arctic. They make promises they can't keep, the hiring process is a joke as the people that interview potential employees have no understanding of what is really happening the community. Once you move north all your access is gone and your only option is to work with Head Office. Head Office has a corporate structure which is perpetuating colonization and steeling from the poorest people in Canada. The "food insecurities" reported on is created and maintained by the Co-op business model. You will work every day until you drop or get sick if you care at all about what you do. There is NO support from Head Office as they "pretend" to be hands off while keeping all controls on ordering, freight, financials and processes.... It is insane!

Pros

The team is incredibly supportive and there are many opportunities for internal promotion. The benefits package is competitive and work-life balance is respected.

Cons

The fast-paced environment can sometimes lead to burnout if you don't set clear boundaries. Communication between departments could be improved.
