Pros

I had a good boss who cared about those who worked for him.

Cons

Pay wasn't great. Arconic doesn't care about the people working for it. They also claim to promote safety first, but this isn't reflected in practice or expectations. Lack of attention to detail in engineering. Unqualified people are often promoted beyond their ability and sometimes blamed for subsequent failure. It's a company basing itself on innovation after having spun off from Alcoa, but that innovation isn't better than competitors; there is little differentiation and possibly some loss of competitiveness due to reduction of vertical integration.

Pros

Good benefits including a strong 401k match. The company places a real emphasis on safety, which is important in a manufacturing environment. There are opportunities for professional development and advancement for employees who are motivated and willing to take on additional responsibility. Many teams have experienced employees with strong technical knowledge, and there are chances to learn a lot about large-scale manufacturing operations. Overall a stable company with structured processes and clear expectations.

Cons

The culture can feel somewhat typical of a large corporation, with a strong focus on metrics and production targets. Some strategic decisions can feel short-term focused, which can create frustration at the operational level. Communication between leadership and employees is not always consistent. Like many manufacturing companies, employees can sometimes feel more like part of the system than individuals.
