It's okay... while it lasts. You're just property to them in the end. - Field Mechanic Archrock Employee Review

Pros

Good training, benefits, good work trucks, good co-workers (if you're on the front lines), wide variety of equipment, good parts availability, standardized practices

Cons

Archrock is a corporation that also has compressors. Their primary goal isn't making activities out in the field more efficient and safe. The priority of archrock is to make numbers look good for the people in Houston so they can pat themselves on the back. If you are a field mechanic, Houston views you as a number on a spread sheet just like the equipment. They actually don't like having field mechanics, just tolerate having them so uptime numbers look good on their Houston spreadsheets. You can even be bought and sold just like the equipment. Equipment that is long past its useful life cycle will be ran until it fails. The "in between time" of constant nuisance repairs due to poor planning is always blamed on field mechanics. They like to promise that they'll actually obey OEM life cycle recommendations, but then a bonus opportunity comes up for corporate so they forget about it. Archrock has a reputation for being reptilian slimeballs and it is deserved.
