Pros
Pay structure is good within manufacturing industries; good bnenefits incl medical & dental care and matching 401K. Given a lot of independence in performance of work. Provided very good early retirement incentives during the last recession to encourage voluntary retirements.
Cons
The cyclic nature of the industry makes for uncertainty in making financial decisions. Recent temporary plant shutdowns wrecked havoc with ability to plan ahead in both personal and business life.
