Pros

Competitive pay and benefits Opportunities for career advancement if you're in the right circle Exposure to large-scale logistics and transportation operations Some genuinely talented and hardworking colleagues Modern campus and updated technology in certain departments

Cons

My experience at ArcBest was disappointing due to a company culture that fosters favoritism and questionable ethics. There is an unspoken “hookup culture” that is ignored or tolerated, especially among leadership. Work trips often felt more like social events than professional gatherings, with heavy drinking normalized and sometimes even encouraged. Worse, the company seems more interested in protecting its senior leaders than its employees. When complaints are raised—particularly about inappropriate behavior or boundary-crossing from leadership—they are either brushed off or quietly buried. This creates an environment where subordinates don’t feel safe or supported. I had hoped for a professional environment focused on growth and respect. Instead, I witnessed a culture that rewards silence and punishes those who speak up. I would caution anyone considering a role here to look carefully at the values that matter most to you.

Pros

I've been here for a long time and love the people I work with.

Cons

Newer leadership seems to be killing the culture of care. The recent round of layoffs were handled very poorly. Not just for those who were let go, but for those who are still employed, but have changes. It was a disaster of miscommunication. Managers didn't know their folks had been let go, managers didn't know they had people joining their teams, employees didn't know what their new roles would entail....it's the worst transition and change management I've seen in over a decade of working here.
