Dont work for the company that doesnt care about your well being - Pest Control Technician Aptive Environmental Employee Review

Pros

Company Truck, gas cars and pto with a bunch of overtime plus the culture that was around the office.

Cons

Everything else. The workload, the lies for promotions. Screwing people over from managers to Techs. Upper Management putting their work on the technicians (wanting them to explain what new products do instead of sending out an email or calling them about it). Sending out the techs to appointments a month, maybe 2 months in advance instead of honoring the agreement. And maxing out the stops (16-18 per day) and expecting us to finish it. All this company ever cared about is numbers and yes men. They should have cared about the top performering people instead of the brown nosers and yes men. And the stuff that techs deal with on a daily basis is not worth the small "bonuses" that they give out (giving out a 30 cent raise one year and a 50 cent raise the next is not a bonus). Also the fact that the people who speak out and try to make it bearable to work here get punished while the yes men get promoted. Unless you like feeling like a work horse and being slaved away, do NOT work for this company.

Pros

Pay and overtime is great, management is decent, you run your own show- upsell, identify pest problems, know your chemicals, different methods, request inventory products

Cons

It's a lot of hours in summer. You will hate spiderwebs. I enjoy seeing many beautiful gardens and getting to know the local wasps, birds, and lizards- but it's not for everyone. Don't trust everything management says, and bring up issues early and with tact.
