Pros

Decent first job, decent pay for entry level position, in most branches the people at your actual branch will be really good, unless you screw up with corporate somehow you basically can't be fired because they can't afford to lose any workers who aren't quitting

Cons

Corporate lies to you constantly, you will feel more expendable than at any fast food or retail, you will be working more than ten hour every day in the summer, there are no accomodations for weather and you're working outside - whether it's -30F, 105F, Thunderstrom, corporate does not care shut up and do your job. Corporate treats you with open contempt, consistently pretends to care but if you actually talk to them their eyes glaze over and they openly despise you for existing.

Pros

Pay and overtime is great, management is decent, you run your own show- upsell, identify pest problems, know your chemicals, different methods, request inventory products

Cons

It's a lot of hours in summer. You will hate spiderwebs. I enjoy seeing many beautiful gardens and getting to know the local wasps, birds, and lizards- but it's not for everyone. Don't trust everything management says, and bring up issues early and with tact.
