Cons
The CEO is a text book narcissist. Let me elaborate – those people that actually know him will agree… 1. A narcissist is a conversation hoarder – anyone who has tried to have a conversation with the CEO knows you will never get a word in edgewise once you say “hello, how are you?” 2. A narcissist is a conversation interrupter – once the conversation veers away from what the CEO is interested in talking about (usually himself), he will quickly interrupt you and get it back on track. 3. A narcissist projects a false image – the CEO is constantly name dropping and trying to lift himself up in everyone’s eyes. Trust me, none of us care that you know <insert famous person here>. Most likely, you don’t know them, just that you may or may not have passed this person in the restroom and now feel like you know the deepest recesses of their lives. 4. A narcissist has a grandiose personality – the CEO thinks WAY MORE of himself than anyone else does. He always has to swoop in and save the situation because no one else has the brains to get it done. 5. A narcissist enjoys spreading and arousing negative emotions. This is probably one of the more telling signs that the CEO is a narcissist. If you disagree with him, he throws a tantrum. If you fail to meet his unrealistic expectations, he throws a tantrum. He is quick to judge, criticize and ridicule people…not only to their face, but behind their backs to anyone that will listen. And, if you ever have the audacity to resign from the company, you need to be prepared to have him bad mouth you to anyone that will listen and even those that won’t. Overall, any positivity of the experience of working at Apptricity is overshadowed by the narcissist personality of the CEO. He inserts himself into the smallest of issues in the company and then proceeds to tell everyone how he is the only one that knows anything about anything.
