Pros

- Actual office is pretty nice. - Company covers health insurance for individuals at 100%. - Above average PTO offered.

Cons

- Small business mentality in the sense that it's more about who you know, who you're friends with, and who you're related to than whether or not you can do the job. - Snake like office environment, people can and do talk behind your back, you will be thrown under the bus at any opportunity. Extremely strong Do as I Say, Not as I do culture. Both positive reviews for this company are written by the same person. Micromanagement is exceptionally strong, often by people who are not qualified to tell others how to do their job. - Personal and religious beliefs of senior leadership are frequently pushed onto other team members. - Salaried employees are still beholden to a time clock which senior leadership DOES check and review. As such, you get the worst of both worlds; the expectations of timeliness and punctuality with being hourly, and the expectation of working until the job is done because you're salaried. - Senior leadership does not believe in remote work and wants to micromanage. Hybrid/Remote is only for certain employees, who are in the trusted circles. - Position hires for Risk Managers, but that is not what occurs here. Risk Managers at this company would be better described as claims administrators who handle low level claims directly, and act as liasions between themselves and the carriers for more serious and advanced claims. Those with a Claims Background may have more success than those with a true Risk background. Your job is not to manage the total cost of risk, it's to be a claims handler for a variety of companies who do not have the foot print or scale to warrant handling claims in-house. This is not a bad thing, but understand that this is the job in question and not a Corporate Risk Management role.

Avoid putting too much stock into this review, as it is full of misinformation. 1 - Yes, we are a small company of 11-12 employees. We are family owned, and therefore some family members are employed here. As a leader for this company, I have personally received direction which indicates that the expectations of those that are related to ownership are even higher and that they must bring tremendous value to the organization. 2 - Transparent environment. All feedback and kudos are shared with the group, as either a learning opportunity or a way to highlight success. The two leaders of the department that give direction/guidance have extensive industry experience. Director has 30+ years industry experience, practice leader has 18+ years industry experience. Role is very self-managed, yet there are performance metrics that are easily achievable by effective team members. 3 - ARS is a faith-based, Christian company. Employees receive Good Friday off, and leadership does pray over company meals - other than that, all faiths and beliefs are respected, and participation otherwise is voluntary. 4 - There is no time clock in existence. There are general operating hours naturally that we do need employees for. Timeliness and punctuality are being highlighted here as if that is a bad trait, which may indicate that this former employee struggled to attend work. Generally, the operating hours are 8am-5pm, with an hour for lunch and two breaks. Unfortunately, a client may experience a significant incident after 5pm eastern, so rarely a Risk Manager may be engaged with the client in that event. There is an afterhours phone that is staffed by volunteer Risk Managers, who receive additional compensation for each week they volunteer to do so. 5 - Senior leadership works remote at times, and also authorizes hybrid/remote work for employees after their 90 day probationary/training period. There is a remote worker policy whereas the team member must have a remote work environment that is conducive to effectively working remote. There is also PTO available in the event a team member needs to be out of the office, as well as are unable to effectively work remote. 6 - Risk Managers with either a Risk or a Claims background find success in this role. Our Risk Managers handle a wide range of claims from minor incidents to the most significant claims one could experience. The job IS to manage/reduce costs and exposures for our clients as it relates to incidents. If you are considering a role in Risk Management, there is also an entry level position in Risk Management Support where a team member gains experience and exposure, training and opportunities to learn until such time he/she is promoted to Risk Manager. We are not are a large corporate environment where those who are seeking to not contribute can hide away. We work closely together for the benefit of our clients. We wish this former employee well, whoever he/she may be - yet we acknowledge/agree that clearly this role in our company was not a good fit for that individual based on their commentary. Yes - there is a need to have employees work during our operating hours.

Pros

I enjoy supporting a small team of experienced Risk Managers - which allows me the opportunity to learn on the job and one day be promoted to Risk Manager as well.

Cons

It is challenging work in that it can change every day depending on client and company needs. You do need to be super organized and adaptable,

Pros

Located by The Battery in Atlanta

Cons

Unscrupulous business practices & employee management practices. They changed the structure of the company to attempt to avoid legal liability. Under “Matrix Group” or even “RevMatch” for whatever suits them.
