Cons
Projects and staffing assignments did not appear to be well organized. Communication for a small company seemed poor. There was little onboarding guidance. Clear expectations for new employees were not set. They had no management structure in place as they were trying to be a “teal” organization but leaders did not appear to have a clear vision or plan to implement.
I observed that the CEO seemed disengaged in day to day operations and was preoccupied with writing a book.
Company laid off several of the people that were hired after only 6 months on the job. It seemed that the people responsible for the business decisions that resulted in having to make the recent layoffs were not impacted by the layoff. Forecasting an economic downturn should have been anticipated.
Most people that worked there were reasonable. There were a few employees who dominated many of the discussions and decisions that were made, there was no management in place to address their behavior. I felt these few employees created an environment where some people didn’t feel trusted or empowered.
