Pros

None. You are contracted to another company to do the same work as those you are working alongside. You are doing that for significantly less pay and worse benefits so that the other company can have the flexibility to cut down their work force. That is Applied's bread and butter.

Cons

- Pay is low, especially for entry level - 1% 401k match if you put in 2% when I last worked here in 2021. There is an ESOP to supplement but in my view it is unlikely to approach a competent employer's 401k match. It was 6 years to fully vest by the way! - If the company Applied is contracting you to decides to cut down their work force, you are the first to go. Applied would then attempt to find you another gig.

Pros

Great people and work culture

Cons

Not specific to Applied Engineering but contract work can be tough when there are re-assignments. Pay is less than a what a client would pay their direct employees.

Pros

Variety of projects Straightforward career development goals Good work/life balance Supportive culture Employee Stock Ownership Program is great for retirement savings Work for global companies as a 3rd party contractor

Cons

Employee experience is mostly determined by customers, who may not prioritize your development. Compensation reflects the customers' location, often rural areas with no competition for employees
