Pros

Lovely co-workers, nice customers, straight forward job in general can’t go wrong for part time college work! Hours pretty flexible for studying. Met some really genuine people at applegreen!

Cons

Terrible pay, bonuses promised when in management but you receive less than 1/10 of bonus as store didn’t perform or sales weren’t increased regardless of your hard work, and by the time they put it in with your normal week wages it’s all taxed off you. Not based on personal performance! The following was witnessed in more than one store; Upper Management have little morals, move people in position that have done wrong to different stores instead of firing them or reporting to guards, area managers have zero respect for managers below them especially of a foreign nationality. When someone doesn’t perform they encourage a bullying system of ruining people’s mental health to get them to quit because they can’t turn up to work anymore instead of an ethically letting them go, witnessed multiple times done to other people, directly encouraged from area managers. Promising employees positions to make them do the work and then giving the promotion to someone else. Cameras being checked on staff regularly and used in a way to attack or insult. The list goes on, highly recommend anyone seeking a career in management to not settle for working for such a morally wrong business! I left before it could be done to me!

There are Absolutely no pros to the job

Cons

You will be miss treated by upper management who while is expected to be held by the same standards you are willing never actually uphold those standards for themselves while simultaneously being abused by the employees who are your direct reports because this company gives basic employees several protection against disciplinary actions making it very difficult to correct poor behavior and remove underperforming employees. You will be undercompensated for all of your work and be expected to work yourself to death all to line the pockets of the people above you who have absolutely no idea how to truly run a customer service business where the focus is the customers and the people that brake care of them
