Pros

Great technology So much potential Great people

Cons

Culture is poor. Leadership's approach to fixing culture is forcing everyone back into the office 5 days a week. Problem with that is the DMV traffic is horrible. It is actually working against them more than it is helping them. Senior leadership is a revolving door which is leading to a lack of continuity and a disconnect with strategic uncertainty. I was there for 4 years and saw 4 different (technically) CROs and 3 different CMOs. Most of the veterans that lead to the success of Appian have all left. And Sales culture is very much about the numbers and less about the behaviors that drive the numbers.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for recognizing the great people across the team. We acknowledge your feedback around our return-to-office and leadership transitions. Being in person fosters stronger collaboration and connection across teams. We also recognize the impact that leadership changes can have on continuity, and are focused on strengthening alignment and direction during times of transition. Employee forums and executive-level “Ask Me Anything” sessions are one way we provide transparency and create space for open feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, as it helps inform how we continue to improve.

Pros

Cool office & perks, unlimited PTO.

Cons

My manager ultimately stabbed me in the back. Being a recruiter here is a trap. No one has your back, your are just an order taker and every stakeholder has unrealistic and unfair expectations. The founders have their hand in the entire recruiting process and it makes it so unbelievably hard. They want top talent but have not top talent pay. They are not flexible on RTO so good luck.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and highlighting our employee perks. We acknowledge your feedback regarding the recruiting process, stakeholder alignment, and our Return-to-Office guidelines. Providing a supportive environment where expectations are clear and fair is something we hold ourselves accountable to every day. While our commitment to an in-person workplace is rooted in building strong collaboration and connection across our teams, we are equally focused on ensuring our leaders have the tools and training necessary to support every department. We appreciate you taking the time to help us look for ways to improve.
