Pros

Some genuinely talented colleagues. Some good technologies.

Cons

Post-Acquisition Chaos: Since the merger with [Other Company], our once efficient product has been lost in a complex and wasteful platform. Lack of Clarity and Planning: Strategic direction is muddled and inconsistent, leading to decreased morale. Slow Development Times: The new platform's complexity has drastically slowed down our development process. Poor Kanban Management: What used to be an efficient system is now plagued with bottlenecks and delays. CTO's Lack of Business Focus: There's an excessive emphasis on over-engineering suitable for a company much larger than ours. This disconnect leads to inefficiencies and disillusionment. Nepotism in Leadership: A clear inner circle operates on their own motivations, often disconnected from actual business needs. Ineffective New Processes: New processes introduced by the CTO were tried but never improved upon based on team feedback. Instead, more meaningless steps were added, creating a disconnect between design and application. Ignored Feedback: There's no effective mechanism for feedback. When given, it's often ignored or bogged down by additional processes. Frustration and Negativity: Team members are worn down, leading to an environment of bitterness and a sense of futility.

Pros

Excellent camaraderie amongst the staff. Lovely and always helpful — great banter as well.

Cons

Seeing as my previous review was removed I can say this speaks volumes for the coverup at was constantly occurring at AppLearn. Completely unsurprising giving the fact they lied to staff about updates to the business whilst I was there. Seeing staff getting let go after a Christmas party was really the shock of a lifetime when the business promotes such “positive” work culture. Don’t believe the hype on their Top Ten best places to work — you’re a payroll number until they decide they can’t keep you on due to their financial mismanagement and overbearing obligations to their overseas investors
