Company provided health insurance. No out of pocket expenses. That’s what’s keeping most people there. Pay isn’t great but isn’t horrible for the area.
Cons
Oh geez where do I start. Total disconnect between office and greenhouse workers. It’s like working for two separate companies. Benefits are even different between the two. Management have the ability to purchase stock at a set price. Which translates to thousands of dollars per year available to them. Orange shirts don’t have that luxury. Advancement isn’t about what you know but who you know there. 6 day work weeks were standard while I was there. They advanced people based on who you knew there and how often you worked everyday. AppHarvest wants you to be married to the business. So if you are new and just starting out remember that. Your experience will depend a lot of who your assistant growers are. Some good and some really bad ones. I had a really bad one and multiple people quit because of it.
