Pros

Good for getting some experience in pet medical laboratory field

Cons

Always understaffed Have unqualified people working in areas they should not be in Not scientific, Scientific in name only Contamination, hygiene, sick people coming in, and PPE problems No one wears PPE and sometimes does not wear gloves, again PPE problems No biohazard trash bins, or sharps containers Management will not follow SOP until they get in trouble Eye wash stations do not work Hazardous chemicals, strong acids and strong bases, just laying on the floor and no chemical storage or cabinet to put them in Food gets moved in and out of the lab area No individual metrics so good workers get overworked and lazy workers get to slack off Management will not listen to educated staff and thus they leave quickly Always working with skeleton crew and if one person is out sick or on vacation you are going to do the work of those people Work environment is just awful and they hire just any person off the street, if you start in the wrong department some of the people there are not the best to get you going Training is all over the place you will not know who you report to first

Good work environment with opportunity for growth if you pursue it.

Cons

Pay is low, but expected in an entry level role, and benefits are good which make up for it.
