Pros

One positive aspect of the company was the opportunity to work with supportive colleagues, consultants, and mentors who were knowledgeable and willing to help.

Cons

I joined this company last year after initially applying for a Talent Acquisition Executive role. Before proceeding to the second interview, I was instead offered a PA & Researcher position. One of the main challenges I experienced was a mismatch between the working conditions advertised and the actual expectations after joining. The job listing stated working hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but in practice, the working hours for the role were extended to 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM without additional compensation. The working environment felt highly micromanage and closely monitored. Employees were required to share their screens during working hours, which created a sense of constant supervision and limited autonomy. At the same time, performance expectations were quite high relative to the compensation offered. Another concern was the expectation for employees, particularly in research roles, to provide their own high-spec equipment. In my case, upgrading to a suitable PC required a significant personal investment that exceeded my monthly salary. Despite this, job security felt uncertain, and employee turnover appeared relatively high during my time with the company. There also seemed to be a significant gap in compensation between Indonesian remote employees and employees from other countries for very similar responsibilities. While searching for remote opportunities in Malaysia last year, I noticed that this company posted job ads in Malaysia with significantly higher compensation packages. Employees based in other countries appeared to receive higher compensation packages, while Indonesian employees were expected to work longer hours with fewer benefits and no overtime compensation. Additionally, there were no local statutory benefits provided to Indonesian employees during my tenure. Considering the workload, extended hours, and level of monitoring involved, the overall compensation and benefits did not feel aligned with the expectations of the role.

Pros

WFH means no transport fee Helpful

Cons

WFH is one of the only real positives here — it removes transport costs and saves time. Colleagues are generally good and easy to work with.
