Pros

Free lunch and good salary for diploma holders.

Cons

Toxic work environment. HR and management often ask for feedback but nothing is done to improve work environment or culture. No safety protocol, no SOP. Not an engineering role - job scope similar to operator. Promotion based on loyalty rather than merit - local assistant managers have no leadership capability (still working in production, no managerial responsibilities). Higher management are Japanese who make no effort to communicate; clear segregation between Japanese and local staff. Company emphasizes the want to localise the workforce, but no plan to do so - years in Singapore and all higher management still Japanese. MC's names are written on a whiteboard in the lobby for all to see. 14 days AL but subjected to approval so possible for ALs to be rejected if they need manpower (which is always) so make sure to apply AL way in advance. Can't reject OT.

Pros

Good people, lunch provided by the company

Cons

Practices a top-down hierarchy East Asian (Japanese) work model; work environment is very suffocating, stringent, and stale. A lot office power play from the senior management, they expect you to be loyal and obedient followers. Not a vibrant and free place to work in. Operations is very traditional and redundant.
