Pros

Getting to meet new people and networking.Learning the marketing systems and how to apply themAnd also some motivational meeting that felt like I was in church but they were very inspirational

Cons

The hours can be excruciatingly long. They play favoritismFavoritism and They tell you to always come to dinner if you have a question or need help with something and they always offer to helpBut when it comes down to it they do not helpUnless you are one of their favorite. If you have kids they will then do everything they possibly can toMake you fail so therefore they give you what you call aCritical type of conference with them where they basically give you the week of the scheduleAs punishment for not doing what they want you to doInstead of helping you increase your sales and figure out what is going onBut when they give you that week off the schedule they have the expectations of you not coming backAnd if you do decide to come back and give them a game plan for yourself and how you're going to better yourselfIt really does not matter because they are going to tell you that they don't agree with it and you are fired basically. They promise you the world and that you are going to own your own part of the company and they are there for you and help youBut the truth of the matter is they are not they are only in it for themselves and will never help you. They will give you the story about it does not really matter how long it take you to get toBut in reality it doesn't matter if you are not a team leader in one week. How can you become successful in this type of business if you are not getting the proper tools to do so Instead you are treated like a dog and do not get any kind ofAcknowledgement for anything that you have done to improve anything. The people there are also very very fake peopleAnd I so hypocritical because they will say one thing during the morning meetings as far as being positive attitude and loving the jobBut once they get out into the field they are criticizing the job at hours and the process that are going through.Another con is that you do not get a single day off at all during the week or the weekend. If you are scheduled for a day off then it does not matter you still have to be there at 8 o'clock in the morning for a meetingAnd Tuesday nights for another meetingAnd if you are late then they will really really get mad at you even if its a true emergencyBut if you are one of the managers favorites then there is not a single problem with you being late all the timeIt is more as a do as I say not as I do kind of situationThe people there are nothing but air again young 21 year old kids that do not have a single clue about what life is about and what it really truly takes to be successful!!

Pros

I've looked at the reviews for this position and from what I've seen is disgruntle past employees. In some of the cases they are right however in others they might be a little misguided. The first thing I'd like to say is this is a SALES position with that they give a very good growth opportunity. I started off accepting this position knowing that I was going to be looking for another job while with Anchor Events. I was just like the people who thought the whole must have been a scam because it seemed to good to be true to operate an office in 8 months. But just recently an employee got promoted up to Manager and she had been with the company for about 9 months. That's not the only thing that made me stay,it was the people. Yes they're right that most of the people that work there are college graduates I went to UTSA majoring in Psychology! I never would have thought that I would end up here!!! Yet it was the like minded people and the friendships I have with them that makes me stay. They really care about anyone they hire and invest a lot of time in them. Its really comforting being with my own peers in a special kind of program that very few people understand. Just recently I go a chance to travel to Orlando! They paid for it and gave me a rental car also!! So if you consider yourself as an a extrovert and likes talking and selling to people then this would be a good fit but if your looking for marketing as far as the traditional sense like Don Draper on Mad Men then you will not enjoy this at all.

Cons

Selling doesn't always have its good days! This isn't the type of job for people who need a lot of personal time. This is why I understand what the other review mentioned about having children and being pregnant. They are very picky with the kind of people they promote so if they tell you what to change it has to happen quickly.

Pros

The interviewers are great on the phone and sound excited to have you join the team. That's it.

Cons

The title of the position and almost every position they advertise for is a total lie. You do not manage any events. If you think they will have you working with events for clients you are wrong. The "events" are basically booths that are set up at Sam's Club or Costco that you will be at "marketing" their client's product. You will never work with a client, talk to a client, or create any kind of business relationship with a client. If you are applying for a marketing position of any kind this is what you will be doing. If you have marketing experience and an education they will still tell you that you will start in this position. When you talk to other people who start at this position they are all college grads or have very little job experience. Marketing is a very vague term to use in a job title, because it can mean a variety of things. If you are educated and have job experience I do not recommend you to Anchor Events, Inc.
