Pros

I have been at Anaplan for 6 months now. Lots has happened since I arrived. We went from a public to private company and as a result the company is evolving on a daily basis. Yet, I am still super excited to be a part of Anaplan. From my point of view, one could feel uncertainty is scary but every single decision that has been made makes sense and works toward a more scalable workforce. Before Anaplan, I was working in a very toxic environment so my most important value for choosing a company to work for was around the culture. It’s a very subtle thing to detect during the interview process but still palpable if you pay attention and if the company is right. Every single person, including my hiring manager and the Sales management team were clearly listening to my point of views and interested in what I had to say during my panels. Now that I am part of the hiring process, I can tell that the choice of a candidate is a team effort and everyone’s point of view, doubts, concerns is taken into account. The candidate’s personality, EQ and culture fit is a big part of the decision process. Not only do we take the best people in terms of their experience but we won’t compromise on the culture fit. I am so thankful that Anaplan keeps hiring this way because this is exactly how a company maintains a good culture. As for my day-to-day work, I could not be happier about my team, my management team and my team’s ecosystem. I am surrounded by talented, passionate and dedicated people who only have the customer’s success in mind. That means that everyone does their part responsibly and without complaining. It may sound like basic expectations but not a given in all companies! The Customer Success related roles can often be left with anything not related to commercials that no one wants to own but here at Anaplan, we all work as a team equally, win as a team and lose as a team.

Some change to be expected after the new CEO will officially join but I have great trust in Thoma Bravo considering the positive trend of decisions they have made so far.

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
